The first thing to say is that Oscommerce it's an open source solution than permits to set up an electronic shop, this at no cost for you.

Oscommerce is a well known e-commerce application (thousands of live stores arround the world) with a long history, oscommerce highlights per its great quantity of benefits and robustness. Around oscommerce it exists a developers community that constantly are improving the application and creating additional features to add new benefits.

FullTrust includes a tool that allows a direct connection to your internet Oscommerce store. By this way you will be able to update products or create new products, prices, suppliers and other information from the FullTrust database, directly, without work duplicity.

If we put all the above mentioned in the context of a small commerce, then you will be able to only see opportunities, since only you won't have a tool like Fulltrust that it will allow to manage the business, but rather also, you are in front of the possibility of using the internet like a new commercial channel for your business, only achieving this per the cost of Fulltrust and some additional effort.

Integration between FullTrust and Oscommerce, how it works?

FullTrust includes a utility that allows you to update information of an Oscommerce store. FullTrust can connect directly from your pc to an internet Oscommerce store in order to update and / or create product information and to download customers and orders information.

Setup and usage

Prerequisites:

• FullTrust.
• An Oscommerce store already installed and working (version 2.2 Milestone 2).
• An internet connection

In order thats this utility can work you must upload the fulltrust tunneling file to your web server, this file can be found in the fulltrust installation folder, it's name is ft_plugin.php

The fulltrust tunneling file can be placed in any folder in the web server, the folder selected must be accesible from the web browser. Before to upload the tunneling file a change must be done, this change consists in set the mysql database connections parameters and to add the an store id in order to avoid that another user using fulltrust can access your store information.

You can make this changes using a text editor like de windows notepad, the changues to make are the following:

• Line 2, $hostname_dsi = "localhost" Replace the value localhost with the name of your database server, in most cases the value localhost is correct.
• Line 3, $database_dsi = "osc" Replace the value osc with the name of your database.
• Line 4, $username_dsi = "root" Replace the value root with the user name of your database.
• Line 5 $password_dsi = "" Input here the password for the database user.
• Line 6, $sid = "1234567890" Write here your store id, you must choose a value, this value will be used in the plugin configuration, both values must be the same, elsewhere the connection will be rejected.

Oscommerce doesn't have a field "Code" for the products, but rather, it uses a numeric ID to individualize them, it is for that reason that FullTrust will consign the code from the product to the field "products_model" of the table "products" in the Oscommerce database, if your FullTrust products code is longer that 12 charecters then you must modify the the products table in the Oscommerce database in order that the values fit in the field.

The above mentioned also apply to the table orders_products where you must make the same change.

The oscommerce upadet tool will connect directly to your web site, will verify the security configuration and if it's correct, will upload the fulltrust information to your Oscommerce store.

This utility was made thinking in that the user will export all the products to the virtual store and possibly it will exclude only some, it is for that reason that the form possesses a grid that it stores the products that will be excluded, we call this grid as the "EXCLUSION LIST "

Once the products to exclude are selected, you can start the Oscommerce update tool. This subprogram runs independently from FullTrust, by this way you can continue your work in FullTrust or in another application, even you can close FullTrust at all.

The available options are the following:

Upload / Update products information:

1. Establish if you will upload all products or just those that was updated from the las time you updated your oscommerce store.
2. Tells to the program from which product code to start uploading, this is useful if you interrupt the process, next time you open the application the program will "remember" the last processed product.
3. If is checked the program will upload the products images via FTP, the FTP connection parameters must be previously set.

How long the process will take to complete will depend on the products quantity, your internet connection speed and your web server response capacity.

Download new customers and orders

Allows to download the oscommerce customers and orders. The downloaded orders will be created in fulltrust as preorders, you can use this preorders to create the sale.

1. Establish if you will download the new customers and orders or the customers only.
2. When download customers you can decide to download new customers only.

General options

• Folder in the web server where the file ft_plugin.php is located: Here you must input the full path to the folder where you uploaded the file ft_plugin.php.
• Store ID: The store password you have set in the ft_plugin.php file.
• Oscommerce admin security: If you uploaded the ft_plugin.php to the oscommerce admin folder and this folder is password protected, then input the user name and password here.
• Images: Set the names of the files that will be used as default images for products and categories.
• Include out of stock products: If is checked the products without available stock will be uploaded, if not, the products without available stock will not be uploaded to the oscommerce store.
• Oscommerce product description field: In oscommerce each product has a "description" field that can contain a lot of information. You can define how this field will be filled using some fulltrust fields, in example, you can define that the description field in oscommerce be filled with the personal fields 1, 2 and 3 plus the fulltrust product description and the fulltrust product measure unit. You can also add individual text labels for each fulltrust field and also you can define the order of the fields.
• The NIF contribution is installed: Select this checkbox if the NIF contribution is installed, if the checkbox is checked, then you also must input the name of the database field that store the that ID of the customers.

FTP Options

• The FTP options are useful only if you want to upload the products images, if you will upload the products images using an ftp client software, don't need to change nothing here.

Options related to prices and taxes

• Price to publish: It refers to which of the three available prices in fulltrust will be used in oscommerce as the product price. This is a good technique if you want to use one price in the physical store and another price in the oscommerce store.
  
• Include taxes in the published price: Check this options if the published prices includes taxes
• Tax rate applied to the shipping costs: The shipping costs in the oscommerce orders will be downloaded to the fulltrust preorder as an non cataloged product, set here the tax percentage applied to that issue.
• Relation between the fulltrust taxes and the oscommerce tax classes: Oscommerce and fulltrust can handle several tax rates, this options allows to establish the relation of every fulltrust tax rate and the corresponding tax class in oscommerce.

Store clean up

• Store clean up: Allows to remove all the information stored in the oscommerce database.
